Henk-Jan is educated as an Environmental Planner and Economic Geographer. His main research focus lies on grassroots innovations affecting sustainable ways of living, such as local energy initiatives and bicycle movements. Within this project, Henk-Jan focuses on the role of local renewable energy initiatives in the energy transition towards renewable energy. His past research dealt with political aspects of innovations in the spatial organisation of our world and the role of spatial policies -such as urban and spatial planning- in fostering innovation.

Mark is Associate Professor at the Political Sciences of the Environment group of the Radboud University, and coordinator of the JPI MobGIs project. His research domain involves the institutional dynamics of water management and environmental and energy policy. He studies topics such as shock events and institutional change, climate adaptation policies, and the dynamic relationships between government and communities.

Arnoud is professor in Economic Geography at the Radboud University. His research focuses on regional development and the processes of region formation in Europe. He also studies the diffusion of alternative socio-economic practices and innovations, such as grassroots initiatives and the technical, governance and social innovations to which they contribute. He is known for his ‘relational approach’ in which the interdependency between global and local processes is central.
dr. Sietske Veenman

Sietske is senior lecturer at the Political Sciences of the Environment group of the Radboud University. Her research interest is in futures and long-term insecurities in environmental policy, studied both from a government’s perspective and from civil society. Within this research, she focuses on framing of GIs and energy transition futures, and how GIs and their partners deal with the questions raised in the energy transition, given these uncertain futures.
dr. Sietske Veenman

Marieke is PhD researcher with a background in Political Science (BA) and Public Administration (BA and MA). Her research compares the developments of the GIs movement in different European countries, in the context of their institutional environment. In this project, she works on the Dutch database and analysis of Dutch energy policies.
